Detroit Event Production
Corporate Event Production.
Engineered for Confidence.
We bring strategy, creative thinking and technical expertise together to build the right production solution for your event, your audience and your objectives
More Than Equipment.
Event Management with a Coordinated Production Plan.
Great events have a lot of moving parts. A production partner makes sure those parts work together.
Show Ready starts with your objectives—not an equipment list. We consider your audience, content, venue, presenters, staging, audio, video, lighting, rehearsals and show flow, then develop a coordinated plan around what your event actually requires.
We work with your team, venue, agency and other event partners to anticipate challenges, clarify responsibilities and manage the technical production within our scope.
So when the event begins, you can focus on your audience—not the production behind it.
Detroit Experience That Informs Every Production
Our experience throughout Detroit helps us anticipate those requirements and make informed decisions about acoustics, staging, sightlines, power, rigging, access and technical execution.
Featured Detroit Event Productions
Michigan Central
Engineering Production for an Extraordinary Event Space
Michigan Central’s historic architecture creates a spectacular setting—and significant acoustic challenges.
Show Ready’s experience producing events in the space has helped our team develop an engineered approach to audio design that addresses those conditions. That firsthand knowledge also informs how we coordinate staging, video, lighting and show flow within the venue.
For Breakthrough T1D’s Detroit Promise Ball, Show Ready provided lighting, scenic elements, event technology and technical production support.
The value isn’t simply knowing the venue. It’s understanding how the space performs during a live event—and bringing that knowledge to the next production.
Hudson’s Detroit
Coordinating Technology Across a Multi-Space Experience
For Ven Johnson Law’s holiday celebration at Hudson’s Detroit, Show Ready collaborated with the client, their marketing agency, other event vendors and the venue’s internal AV team.
Our production scope included audio, video, lighting, staging, power and technical support across multiple event areas. Lighting supported the entrance, registration, cocktail reception, entertainment spaces and main stage, while the program required coordinated video playback, presenter support and live-band audio.
A connected guest experience depends on careful coordination behind the scenes.
NFL Draft | Detroit Lions Fan Activation
Building Production Infrastructure From the Ground Up
When the NFL Draft came to Detroit, Show Ready worked with Activate on a Detroit Lions fan activation in a temporary tent near Hart Plaza.
Activate led the interactive experience design and fabrication. Show Ready provided the technical production infrastructure, including LED video, audio, staging, lighting, rigging, power and technical direction.
The systems had to work together within a temporary environment while supporting the activation’s creative vision.
When the venue doesn’t provide the infrastructure, your production partner needs to engineer it.

What If My Detroit Venue Already Has AV?
Your venue’s existing AV resources may be exactly what you need. The question is what level of production support your event requires.
For a straightforward meeting, the venue’s equipment and technical staff may provide an appropriate solution. More complex programs may need additional planning, specialized systems, custom staging or a dedicated team coordinating the entire technical production.
Show Ready works collaboratively with venues and their in-house teams. We evaluate what is already available, determine what makes sense to use and identify where additional support is needed.
Before committing, ask:
- What equipment and technical support are included?
- What services or venue charges cost extra?
- Is the in-house AV provider required?
- Can you bring in an outside production partner?
- Who will coordinate rehearsals, cues and the overall technical production?
We’re not replacing venue resources for the sake of replacing them. We’re building the right solution for your event.
When Should I Involve a Production Partner?
Ideally, before you sign your venue contract.
A space may look perfect during a tour but present production requirements that affect your budget, schedule or creative options.
Show Ready can help evaluate:
- Room configuration, staging and sightlines
- Acoustics and presentation requirements
- Power, rigging and technical infrastructure
- Load-in access and setup time
- Existing AV resources
- Labor requirements
- Testing and rehearsal schedules
- Outside-provider policies and potential fees
Understanding these factors before the contract is finalized gives you more opportunity to clarify requirements and address costs or restrictions.
Already booked your venue? We can still help assess the space and develop a production approach around the commitments you’ve made.
What Does Event Production Cost?
Cost depends on the event’s scope, venue, schedule and level of technical support—not simply the equipment in the room.
A corporate meeting with presentation support has different requirements than a multi-room conference, gala or brand activation.
Key cost drivers include:
- Audience size and number of rooms
- Audio, video, lighting, staging and scenic requirements
- Engineering, technical direction and crew
- Installation, rehearsal, show and strike schedules
- Rigging, power, internet and venue charges
- Transportation, labor rules and overtime
- Backup systems and contingency requirements
We discuss budget early so we can prioritize where production investment will have the greatest impact.
If your vision and budget aren’t aligned, we’ll explain the trade-offs and explore alternatives with you.
The goal isn’t to spend more. It’s to invest in the elements that matter most to your event
Why Can Production Proposals Vary So Much?
Two proposals can look similar while representing very different levels of planning, staffing and support.
An equipment list doesn’t necessarily explain how a production has been designed, how much installation and testing time is included, or who will coordinate the show.
When comparing proposals, look beyond the total price:
- Are the companies proposing the same scope?
- What is included—and excluded?
- Are equipment specifications and quantities comparable?
- How many crew members are included, and in what roles?
- Are planning, engineering and technical direction included?
- Is adequate time allowed for testing and rehearsals?
- Are venue charges, transportation and overtime accounted for?
- What backup systems and contingencies are included?
We’re happy to walk through our proposal, explain our recommendations and clarify the assumptions behind the production plan.
Compare the solution, the support and the risk—not just the equipment list.
